Right now BetterIV is exclusively owned and managed by me, it’s inventor James T. Rawls MD. I am an Anesthesiologist in Charleston South Carolina dedicated to patient safety, comfort and improvement of patient care. I developed BetterIV out of frustration with what is available for my patients now.

Over the last three years I have slowly worked on building a suitable prototype using the most commonly used catheter size (20 guage). I am now at a point where the product is ready for further development for clinical trials with this size and then expansion into the full spectrum of common sizes. To do this I will need corporate sponsorship of some sort as well as more executive leadership than I can provide while continuing to work as a full time physician.
